Abstract
A prototype model of Ring-plate Planetary Indexing Cam Mechanism (RPICM) is developed with the commercial software of Solidworks 2010. The dynamics simulation using Solidworks 2010´s Motion module is carried out, and the contact force of the cam and the pin gear is received. A 2D finite element model of the RPICM is established with Matlab and ANSYS software. This paper is aimed at the strain analysis of the cam With the finite element analysis (FEA). The computations and analyses show the stress distribution and the place of the most stress. The results of FEA will provide a valuable reference for the structure design and the strength calculation in future research.
