Abstract
FACTS controllers have been readily accepted as feasible means for power control for enhancing steady and dynamic performance of power systems during normal and abnormal operation conditions. In this paper, coordinating the power control for achieving the above objectives is envisaged as a basic framework for setting up various control strategies for FACTS controllers. It starts by devising load flow control strategies by coordinating multi power flow controllers and the associated algorithm is extended to formulate the direct and indirect load flow control strategies. A generalized FACTS device model, unified power flow controller (UPFC), is developed to illustrate operation of various aspects of the proposed power coordination
