Abstract
Granular computing is a new emerging computing paradigm of information processing. It concerns the processing of complex information entities called information granules, which arise in the process of data abstraction and derivation of knowledge from information systems. In this paper, based on granular computing, we analyze granular structures of incomplete information systems. Finally, the simple knowledge representation and valuable knowledge can be discovered from incomplete information systems by granule-based analysis method. The results can also provide a new approach to understanding the structures of incomplete information systems.
