Abstract :
An optimized comblike dispersion profile fiber (CDPF) structure for generating multigigahertz soliton pulse train at 1545 nm is presented. The structure has seven segments, consisting of 14 alternating pieces of dispersion shifted fiber (DSF) and standard telecommunication fiber (STF). The resulting soliton pulses have a full width at half maximum (FWHM) of 1.82 ps at a repetition rate of 59.1 GHz
