Research of Automotive Color Development

Today, with the rapid development of automobile industry in China, auto design has not been only limited to appearance design, while factors to improve automobile´s added-value such as color are being concerned. Auto companies also begin inputting lots of manpower and material resources in color development, but how to conduct effective color development so as to avoid waste of resources or affecting the overall auto design and R & D process is a problem often arising from China´s automotive color development in present stage. This paper, combined with analysis of the status quo of automotive color R & D at home and abroad, discussed the importance of the establishment of a color development system in automobile development and proposed automotive color development strategy and professional requirements for automotive color designers.
