Abstract
In this paper, a new approach to solve optimal power flow (OPF) problem in power system is presented, known as intelligent search evolution algorithm (ISEA). In the proposed algorithm, a two step initialization process have been adopted which eliminates the mutation operation and also it gives optimal solution with less number of generations which results in the reduction of the computation time. The feasibility of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated for a standard IEEE 30-bus system. The OPF results with ISEA (proposed algorithm) is compared with differential evolution algorithm(DEA). The results reveal better solution and computational efficiency of the proposed algorithm than DEA.
