Abstract
Solutions of the inhomogeneous telegraph equation are constructed in terms of spherical harmonics for source distributions on an expanding sphere. The solutions obtained are used for a sphere expanding faster than light. The case of a source distributed on a circle belonging to the sphere is also given. The possibility of description of electromagnetic waves by means of the constructed scalar solutions is shown.
