Abstract
The electronic systems of an astronomical space telescope for UV mapping of the sky are described. Three `Wedge and Strip´ detectors in the focal plane of Ritchey-Cretien telescopes provide photon-counting imagery of the stars and backgrounds. Data compression and recording are used to hold the data until it can be transmitted to the ground station. Major factors in the design include reliability, weight and power minimization and thermal control
