Abstract :
This paper presents a new approach called parallel inductor synchronized switch harvesting to harvest electric energy from a mechanical excited piezoelectric element. Based on the criteria energy harvesting circuit, this new parallel inductor synchronized switch harvesting circuit was constructed and explained. The theoretical model of output electric energy for this new circuit was derived and a MULTISIM simulation study based on ANSYS piezoelectric coupling analysis was conducted to evaluate the ability of harvesting electric energy. The simulation results show that use of the parallel inductor synchronized switch energy harvesting circuit increases power transfer by over 400% as compared to when the criteria energy harvesting circuit is used.
