Abstract :
A compact BLDC motor for high power, high bandwidth Rotary ElectroMechanical Actuator (REMA) was designed for a short duty aerospace application. The motor is designed based on the concept of peak power requirement rather than rated power. The design is based on high magnetic and electric loadings to get peak power from the motor to meet high accelerations of the actuator. The major functional requirements were 25 Nm output Torque and 25 Hz bandwidth at 2.5 deg. The Motor was designed, realized, tested and the results were meeting the specification.
