Abstract :
A technique was developed to accurately detect the presence of a clip in an analog waveform by employing a frequency weighted signal matched pseudodifferentiator. This technique does not require any a priori knowledge of the amplitude dynamics of the signal. A software preprocessor which proved quite effective in detecting clipping, even that caused by soft limiters, which exhibit variability in clipped regions, was developed. The preprocessor is designed to pass digitized data through four distinct blocks
