Abstract
Networked tiled display (NeTD) systems, which leverage low-cost display tiles connected by high-performance networking, enable the simultaneous visualization of multiple ultra-high-resolution media. In this paper, in order to pinpoint the performance bottlenecks, we first attempt to analyze the NeTD system performance under a remote visualization scenario. By modeling the NeTD system into computing/networking resources and linking the processing/rendering/transmission capabilities, we can estimate the expected performance. We then propose a prioritized resource adaptation scheme that leverages the proposed performance analysis in order to avoid the expected performance bottlenecks. Finally, we present the experimental verification results conducted under the SMOD (SMeet One Display) NeTD system.
