Abstract :
Harmonic distortion in a modern industrial power system is growing due to the wide spread use of switch-mode power converters. In this paper, we develop and establish a series of macro models of rectifier, inverter, DC motor, three-phase induction motor, fluorescent lamp, personal computer and uninterruptible power supply to model a typical low voltage power system. This paper presents a methodology for developing various nonlinear load models to compute voltage and current distortion at the point of common coupling represented by a shared transformer connected to a stiff power system in accordance with IEEE 519-1992 standards. Balanced and unbalanced supply conditions are studied. The result of simulation is supported by the experimental results
