Abstract :
Combined multi-hop routing with cooperative communication technologies, a simple cooperative multiple-input-single-output (MISO) minimum energy relay scheme is proposed by the cross-layer design to jointly improve the energy efficiency, and end-to-end (E2E) QoS provisioning for wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Under the ideal case, the energy efficiency of the protocol and Joint Optimization are analyzed in this paper. We focus on a multi-hop network with multiple virtual links at each hop and two routing strategies are designed to achieve the full diversity gain provided by the cooperative MISO. In particular, an optimal routing strategy is proposed to minimize the end-to-end energy consumption, which requires the information of all the links and serves as a performance bound. A localized optimization routing strategy is then proposed based on a hop-by-hop relay selection, which can be easily implemented in a distributed way.
