Abstract
The simple problem of the thin magnetic head is used as a model in order to study the behavior of the moment method expansion function coefficients. It is shown, by comparing six different cases of expansion functions, that the analysis of the coefficients helps to improve the selection of the expansion functions, in order to achieve a more accurate and fast convergent solution. Moreover, the presented analysis helps to improve the understanding of the physical nature of the solution
