Abstract
In this paper, we present a new technique that transforms a photo to an image that has mixed-media nonphotorealistic painted look. The important work that has introduced the technique of generating images that have hand painted appearance using curved brush strokes of multiple sizes is given by Hertzmann. We extend this work to produce similar effects digitally. We intelligently use texture mapping to imitate mixed-media appearance. Our technique is interactive allowing a user select media textures and styles parameters to produce different painting effects.
