  • Abstract
    Development of knowledge-based system are often encountered with ill-natured problems and uncertain solutions. This paper gives a comparison of two modeling approaches to knowledge engineering applied to two problem domains. Empirical results show that object modelling technique (OMT) is an ideal supplement to KADS, in terms of object concept, behavioral system view, and object-oriented analysis and design technique. Combining OMT with KADS would give a better understanding, more balanced description, and uniform representation of the knowledge problem and ultimately improve on the uncertain knowledge-based system solutions
