Abstract :
Examines the basic properties of both resonant and travelling-wave meander-line antennae with tapered distributions. These antennae are characterized by their ability to attain low sidelobes in a very restricted volume without the necessity of a corporate feed. A typical meander-line geometry is shown. The difference in the design of resonant and travelling-wave antennae are discussed, and the relative advantages of each type of antennae are compared. Examples of each type are given showing the versatility of these type of antennae with emphasis on the tapered resonant meander-line antenna which is rarely found in the literature
