Abstract :
Wavelet bases are widely used for estimating signals embedded in noise. The main purpose of this work was to improve the performance of existing wavelet-based denoising algorithms when applied to speech signals, and to study the consequences of shift-invariant wavelet packet decomposition (SIWPD) on the resulting artifacts.
