This paper aims to study two major economies in the world namely China and United States of America. Through the demonstration of the rationality and justice of protection of IPRs, the paper has the two countries respectively an empirical analysis on the long-term relationship between protection levels of IPRs and the trade amount of good and service by the use of TC index, then it sets up a model with two variables and make it go through Granger Causality Examination to indicate the essentiality of protection. On the basis of comparison, the paper brings some suggestions for China´s intellectual property strategy.
