We discuss the process of design and implementation of a neuro-fuzzy control system. This system combines an estimation and a control algorithm that deals with the problem of control of one important process variable in the automotive prepaint process-the nitrite. A neuro-fuzzy nitrite control system that has been implemented in an automotive assembly plant is presented
