Abstract
In remote sensing applications there is a need for matching the two images. This paper describes a general purpose algorithm for the automated registration and matching of remote sensing images. The method is based on a modified version of the iterative closest point (ICP) algorithm. The algorithm requires a procedure to find the closest point for geometric entity of a given point then it builds a deformation mapping. An example from Ottawa area illustrates the procedure
