Abstract :
The effects of guard bands in frequency division multiple access (FDMA) and guard times in time division multiple access (TDMA) on message transmission delays are analyzed. The difference in the mean transmission delays in FDMA and in TDMA is obtained, considering the overhead due to guard bands and guard times. An analytical model and assumptions are presented
