  • Abstract
A method is presented for capturing, analyzing and representing functional requirements that is focused toward the production of a specification which is more user accessible, through use of electronic multimedia documentation. This documentation style is capable of showing users representation of requirements and requirements data that is more representative of their real-world problem space than traditional requirements specifications. Using these techniques, multimedia exhibits, notably the results of throwaway rapid prototyping activities and animated simulation, can be incorporated into an electronic multimedia requirements specification. Multimedia requirements exhibits are added by way of hypermedia links, which stakeholders may easily access to obtain clarification or assistance regarding a particular system requirement. This paper is an extension of the author´s research demonstrating that the representation methodology, which was used to construct a multimedia specification, was effective in increasing the perceived understandability of the specification over that obtained from the text specification alone for subjects typical of the population of Army C2I field users
