Abstract
This works deals with developing a dynamic model and designing a control structure for the liquefaction unit of a liquefied natural gas process developed and patented by SINTEF. A detailed dynamic model for this plant is developed using GPROMS as modeling environment and multi-flash as a physical property package. The model is used to investigate stability and fundamental limitations on control performance for the plant, and to develop a control structure based on relative gain array (RGA) analysis.
