Abstract
A method for locating faults with particular failure rates using the results of propagation and infection analysis (PIA) is discussed. It is shown how PIA can be applied to fault location during debugging. PIA gives indications of what fault class might be causing the failure rate. PIA´s worth is in quickly narrowing the number of locations that will have to be manually checked. Results show that PIA can support a tool for debugging software which exhibits a low failure rate. Several experiments affirming this conclusion are mentioned
