Abstract
Working Group 515 was reinstated to provide specific recommendations for CID1 (Class 1, Division 1) applications and to update the product testing section in view of new heater technologies. The background and rationale for accomplishing these objectives in the revised RP515 are presented. RP515 provides a basis for manufacturers and approval authorities to qualify electrical resistance heaters for unclassified, Class 1, Division 2 and Class 1, Division 1 applications. The design, installation, and maintenance recommendations give the user the means to achieve a safe and reliable heat tracing system
