Abstract :
This paper presents a RMS detection algorithm for signal analyzer under the sub-band scanning mode, as well as its implementation. It solves problems in this mode, because when the local oscillator frequency hops, the digital IF module may mistakenly process data. What´s more, the signal analyzer will refresh the frequency spectrum by every single band, instead of the whole frequency range. First, this article introduces the principle of RMS detection and solutions to the problems under the sub-band scanning mode; then discusses the mathematical model of RMS detection in detail; finally provides the implementation process on a communication signal analyzer platform.
