Abstract
A multimedia engineering/computer science system on “computer organization and design” is presented in this paper. The system, developed to include multimedia modules that are interactive and knowledge-based, will teach users about the basic aspects of computer organization and design. The domain knowledge for the system covers the basics of logic design, detailed description of the computer hardware/software aspects, control unit design, memory hierarchy, input/output units, interrupts, direct memory access, and parallel processing. The hypertext feature used throughout the system extends the capability of the user to navigate through the system, based on their level of understanding of the subject material
