Abstract
In the method of driving simulation, behavioral characteristics of driver can be learned safely even under abnormal state. This kind of experimental method also contributes to analyze driver´s emergency response in a variety of complex conditions and it has a good experimental reproducibility, which can be applied in traffic safety, accident reconstruction, ergonomics and other fields. The combination of driving simulation and computer modeling is the development direction of accident analysis, provided the necessary basis conditions by the in-depth data analysis of traffic accidents. According to the data of real cases of side-impact accidents provided by the traffic police, typical accident pattern, crash feature and road scene can be extracted out. Based on this study, we can model multi-view scenario of typical side-impact accident to simulate the process of the accident to obtain the data of driver reaction characteristics and vehicle motion parameters, in the method of designing the environment and trigger condition of side-impact for driving simulation.
