  • Abstract
    The aerodynamic characteristics of ordinary vehicle have been studied by lots of scholars, while few people pay enough attention to the motorcycle´s aerodynamic characteristics. But as the requirements of laws and regulations for motorcycle´s performance continues to increase and the motorcycle market develops, doing motorcycle´s aerodynamic characteristics analysis is much more necessary now. In this work, by using CFD method and getting benefit from established CFD software, we gave the motorcycle´s external flow field (including the driver) a numerical simulation. We analyzed and summarized the data and the computational results are obtained, including 3-D velocity field, 3-D pressure field, and three aerodynamic coefficients. This work has done some useful attempts, and it will provide specific reference significance to the numerical simulation on motorcycle and motorcycle design on the future.
