  • Abstract
    Gain-slope measurements on three different types of erbium-doped amplifiers for analogue applications are presented and discussed. The results clearly show that care must be exercised when using erbium-ytterbium codoped fibre amplifiers. Standard EDFAs and fluoride fibre EDFAs seem to give better performance
