  • Abstract
    We show numerically the feasibility of a passive-loopback line-monitoring scheme in stretched-pulse communications systems with weak filtering. The net loss, excluding coupler losses, for the line-monitoring signals is shown to be close to zero in the presence of filtering and excess gain
