Abstract
The quality of the dispersion-allocated (D-A) soliton is experimentally and numerically compared with RZ and NRZ pulses at zero group velocity dispersion. It is shown that the D-A soliton has the best performance in terms of dispersion-allocation. A 10 Gbit/s data signal at 1.55 μm has been successfully transmitted for the first time over 10600 km by using the D-A soliton and 1.3 μm single-mode fibers
