  • Abstract
    Packet delineation and packet routing through fast wavelength switching have been experimentally assessed on a demonstrator designed along an architecture reaching the asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) packet loss rate standard. Packet wavelength routing and packet delineation functionality have been assessed on a 4×4 demonstrator which is currently implemented along the wavelength routing switch (WRS) architecture. This architecture gains from the fiber bandwidth through its simple implementation to offer a large throughput and allows for low packet loss rates
