Abstract
Ultraviolet (UV) communication is a kind of short-range non-line-of-sight (NLOS) and omni-directional optical communication links that relies on molecular scattering of ultraviolet wavelengths by the atmosphere. In this paper, the principle and properties of UV communication link are described. The geometric and mathematic models of NLOS link of UV communication system are established, and the receiving energy and photon counts of a detector in UV communication system are analyzed, at the same time, it is discussed how link configurations influence systempsilas performances. Theoretical bases are provided for improving efficiency of UV communication system and setting proper link configurations.
