Abstract :
Previous Knowledge-Based Engineering (KBE) systems have difficulty in effectively managing the whole design process which often makes the modeling of product fall into chaos. Process-oriented knowledge-based CAD system is proposed in this paper to manage product design process. For realizing process-oriented knowledge-based CAD system, mathematical representations of process design are proposed; the algorithms of process planning using graph theory are studied. A detailed discussion about typical design is put forward including process-oriented knowledge based design methods and architecture. The implementation of Process-oriented knowledge based design of reducer is studied as a case. Process-oriented knowledge-based CAD system is realized which makes the whole design process efficient and stable.
