Abstract
The author gives an overview of the currently identified standards on management operations for integrated services digital networks (ISDN). These standards establish the principles for the maintenance and operations needed for management of ISDN and define needed management functionality in customer and network equipment, with emphasis on the functionality which should be available at interfaces between carriers, between the network and the user, and with operations systems. Models and terminology that further describe the maintenance strategies and general concept of ISDN management are presented
