  • Abstract
    In the paper, a printed small antenna for ultra-wideband (UWB) communication system application suitable for integration in wireless universal serial bus (WUSB) dongles is presented. The proposed antenna has bandwidth of 8.41 GHz form 2.74 GHz up to 11.15 GHz with return loss values below -10 dB in the whole frequency range. The proposed antenna consists of two symmetrical triangle metals and rectangle ground. The antenna design utilizes symmetrical triangle to achieve broad impedance bandwidth with good gain performance. The antenna fabricated on PCB area of 16 mm ×38 mm × 0.8 mm and small size easily integrated to RF-circuit. The prototype antenna has characteristics of the omni-directional radiation pattern, UWB, simple shape, good gain and low cost. Detailed simulation and experimental investigations are conducted to understand antenna behavior and optimize for broadband operation.
