Abstract
The geomagnetic induced current (GIC) due to geomagnetic storm will damage the utilities in the power grid, and affect the stability running of power system. With the growing economic and requirement for power energy in some regions gradually, this transmission mode that two or more High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) systems share the common AC system, so called Multi-Infeed Direct current (MIDC) systems. So the research of the effect of Multi-Infeed Direct current due to geomagnetic induced current play an important role at present. For this, with the software PSCAD/EMTDC, this paper based on the modified model of 3 generators and 9 buses in BPA will present a simulation for the research of the effect of MIDC under the effect of GIC, then come to a conclusion.
