Title :
Data management in telco networks: From costly duckling to profitable swan
Author_Institution :

Abstract :
A number of convergent trends-including but not limited to: end user focus, horizontalization, COTS HW/SW, increasing influence of IT concepts and artifacts-mean that the telco industry needs to assign at least as much attention to data structures, data ownership and data lifecycle as we have traditionally given to functionality and protocols. Such measures aim at cost savings and increased business agility, but in addition data can be treated as revenue generating assets. This paper suggests an architecture framework for successfully dealing with such issues.
