  • Abstract
Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) is situated to Zhuankou area, Wuhan. Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) is a national level development zone approved by the State Council of P.R.C. in April 1993. With nearly 20 years development history, WEDZ has grown into an important engine in economic development of Wuhan City. Meanwhile, atmospheric environment quality has become more and more worse, and paid on more and more attention. Quantification of the mass contribution of each pollution source is an effective management of atmospheric environment quality; great importance is attached to the identification of the sources of ambient particulates. In the study, the chemical compositional data of 5 chemical species measured at 2 sampling site were analyzed and presented for their monthly variations, compared to some large cities located in China, the concentration of atmospheric aerosols measured in WEDZ is relatively low. the monthly variation of particulate concentration (PM10 and PM2.5) is controlled by the weather conditions, i.e. the average wind pattern and rainfall in the campaign. The data has provided important information on particulate soluble ion profiles in WEDZ and revealed some useful trends.
