  • Abstract
The teratogenic effects produced on Drosophila melanogaster pupae exposed to 150-MHz electromagnetic (EM) radiation at a level of 1.0 mW/cm2 for various durations and at various stages of pupae development are discussed. The experiment comprised two identical sessions, with each session consisting of a total of 12 Drosophila cultures (six cultures per control group and two cultures in each of three different exposure groups). Considering both sessions, with all three exposure groups combined, those Drosophila exposed to the electromagnetic field displayed a teratogenic response at a rate 14.8 times greater than the unexposed control group. The data show that among those pupae exposed to EM radiation, those least exposed had the most and severest defects
