Abstract :
The wavelet transform has been used for a wide variety of applications in signal processing because of its properties. The main fields of application are data compression and time-frequency-analysis. In this article we show how to use the transform for the filtering of geoscience data and especially for relief data. Different approaches for the improvement of the signal noise ratio appear in the literature. On the basis of these threshold methods we have developed a method for an adaptive threshold in the scale domain by using moving windows
