Abstract :
Proposes four new kinds of morphological filters called composite morphological filters (CMFs); they are formed by the combination of opening and closing with image component itself. Then the authors use part of the CMFs in a multiresolution morphological decomposition (MMD) procedure to get image components according to texture size distributions. Finally, they try to classify different textures using a feature which is taken from decomposed images by the CMFs
