Abstract
The coupling-loss characterization of an add/drop interference-based filter module in dense wavelength-division multiplexing (DWDM) application is studied experimentally and numerically. Numerical calculations of misalignments are in good agreement with experimental measurements. Both experimental and numerical results show that the dominant loss in coupling of an add/drop filter module is the angular tilt misalignment between two fiber collimators
