Abstract
An improved method for the identification of optimal paraunitary filter banks in a subband domain Wiener filtering system is proposed. The method is based on the theory of principal components which provides a theoretical close form solution to the problem. The analytical solution gives more insight to the problem and makes the resulting system more amenable to analysis
