Abstract
The problem of modeling complex systems very early in the system life cycle is considered. A definition of system concept modeling is given and an approach to implementing such a model for a problem within the C3 domain is described. By allowing the identification and manipulation of relevant objects and issues of concern early in the system development life cycle, system concept modeling can serve as an aid in flushing out system requirements and capabilities, providing a method to define, build, execute, and test specifications and key behavioral portions of complex systems
