Abstract
Sustainable eco-community is one of the current global hotspots, but what eco-community is and how to build it, are still under research. Our research constructed a set of practicable and normative indicators, and applied of principle component analysis method to study the social and environmental indicators which affects the ecological community of Taipei. Mainly it uses the indicators that can be quantized and cooperate with GIS with the materials in 2008. It takes the asserting weight by principle component analysis, and divides 449 administrative area of Taipei into 5 kind´s impact area of ecology. In addition, this paper demonstrates that these alternative indicators were integrated and then an urban database and assessment were developed to monitor the progress for building an eco-city in the future.
