Abstract
This paper reports some new designs and results for antennas mainly for wireless communication systems. To analyse the properties of the various antenna geometries, suitable software tools are developed. They are mainly based on G1DMULT algorithm for calculating the Green´s functions of planar and cylindrical multilayer structures and the moment method procedure. A genetic algorithm technique is used for optimisation. Firstly, a shorted stacked patch with tilted parasitic radiator is introduced. This design allows increased bandwidth. Then, a broadband planar probe-fed stacked patch structure for circular polarisation is described. Finally, an almost wrapped-around cylindrical stacked patch antenna is presented. Also, a software tool for multilayer cylindrical circular patch array analysis is demonstrated
